I understand where you are coming from in terms of your views however kids like differential, girls like to be different from boys and vice versa. Girls like to think they are superior over boys, with their Barbies and pink and boys like to think they are superior with their action men and blue.

Oh, boys will always be gross and girls will always have cooties. There will always be some way to continue the battle of the sexes. That's not really my issue - what bothers me are the subtle pressures to conform to the pink princess stereotype.

So, did you keep the wall art or return it?

My 7-year-old daughter is interesed in acquiring the exact same piece of art for her bedroom ... it will cost her 4 months' allowance or waiting until her birthday in August. She used to fit that stereotype - double pink, pretty princesses riding prancing pink ponies, but I'm proud of her for being who she is and doing her own thing. you go, girl!

Oh, I kept it - no sense in cutting my nose off, so to speak. Besides, when I see this particular post getting hits, I'm pretty sure it makes a more significant impact to the company than returning it to a disinterested teen at the customer service desk.

And I'm proud of your daughter, too!
